“Inspiration and Hard Work”
It all started with this idea. To create a flame operated lamp, that will employ the primitive force of fire and through mechanisms and configurations will shine twenty-fold brighter in a captivating manner. Despite the fact that the concept of Peltier operated lamps and lanterns is nothing but new, my vision was to create a Lamp*, resembling the lanterns I love, yet inspiringly modified to accommodate this unusual technology.
That Lamp should have Authentic Aesthetics and should highlight the elements of Metal, Fire and Mechanisms arranged in a **Retro-futuristic or ***Steampunk context.
First attempts of putting my thoughts together onto paper gave me this weird raw design and the subsequent creation of a working proof of concept resulted in an even weirder looking apparatus, facts that mystified and thrilled me as if I was trespassing the realms of arcane technology. Then the journey, begun.
Efficiency and Aesthetics
There was not a shortage of problems in every conceivable aspect of operation during making Electrophorus. But this time I was determined to work methodically, document processes by keeping construction records, run endless tests to get a better understanding and strive for perfection.
This resulted in many versions of each component, that each time become more and more refined.
Milestones of Development
It took me almost two years of development, from the creation of a working proof of concept to the Electrophorus Lamp you see today. Overall progress was slow and arduous, but distinct aspects of operation took considerable time, inspiration and creative reiteration that upon completion define what is Electrophorus Lamp. Electrophorus can be the beginning
I have envisioned thermo-lamp technology employed well beyond Electrophorus. Eccentric thermo-lamps designs could be created, such as thermo-floor lamps, thermo-chandeliers or even thermo-bay lights to light up and ornament high visibility areas as their main attractions and make people feel the magic I feel.
